The real trick to having a super cool Fireside chat session is to create the campfire experience … well, a faux campfire experience.
It’s easier than you might think with an LED flame, a few real logs (or faux if you prefer), a few small rocks, and some floral moss to go around the bottom. One last detail, grab a Bluetooth speaker, hide it in the campfire and play crackling campfire sounds.
Now that you have the faux campfire set up, dim the lights (it’s interesting what happens to a group without bright lighting) and fill the open space with blankets, chairs, and some bean bags if you can get your hands on some.
Now you have an absolutely fantastic space for a unique and inviting conversation like none other!
There are two different formats for having a Fireside Chat session:
Have two people lead an interactive discussion on a topic in front of a small, intimate group of people
Have two people talk about a topic without as much open dialogue with the audience. This option is best suited for topics that require an expert with facts to share, it’s still best to open the floor for questions.
